Program with Dr. Chiranjibi Nepal, Governor, Nepal Rastra Bank

Nepal Rastra Bank Governor Dr. Chiranjibi Nepal paid visit to National Banking Institute (NBI) to appraise the progress of the institute on 29th September 2015. Board of Directors of NBI, Chief Executive Officers of commercial banks and Executive Committee members of Development Bankers Association were present in the program.

Welcoming the Governor, Mr. Shovan Dev Pant, Chairman stated that NBI has been working towards capacity development of human capital in the banking industry and have carried out more than 800 programs training more than 18000 banking professionals in the country. In the program Mr. Sanjib Subba, CEO, NBI presented the progress report of the institute for last five years and gave snapshot on NBI activities, new program development and initiatives.

Addressing the gathering Governor Dr. Nepal expressed his satisfaction with the performance of the institute's journey from the beginning and appreciated the bigger role NBI is playing in this regard. Governor Dr. Nepal stressed to Bank CEOs to take training and development investment seriously and support NBIs initiative as it is the responsibility of the banking industry to strengthen and support programs of National Banking Institute. Governor Dr. Nepal further opined that without competent human capital and serious investment in Training and Development the industry will not achieve financial stability.

Concluding his remarks Governor Dr. Nepal stated central bank is behind the NBI and ready to help it grow and sustain on a regular basis.

On the occasion, Governor Dr. Nepal felicitated Mr. Sashin Joshi, immediate Past Chairman of the institute for his contribution and leadership role Mr. Joshi played for the establishment and development of the institute.
